Not at all! This course is designed for total beginners — we walk you through every step, from setting up your machine to tattooing real skin. No drawing or art experience required — many of our students come from none-art backgrounds.

You must be 18 years or older to enroll. That’s it — no prior experience or license required to join the class.

Yes! You’ll receive a certificate of completion from Beautific Studios, showing you’ve been trained by a top-tier studio.

Our training is structured, intimate, and designed for true beginners. We cap the class at 6 students max, so you get plenty of personal attention. You’ll get hands-on experience tattooing both practice skins and real skin, with real-time feedback every step of the way.

We don’t just teach technique — you’ll also get business and marketing guidance, plus direct mentorship from a top fine line artist who's actively working in the industry.

Two of the biggest things that set us apart:

2. The ongoing support. After class, you’ll have access to six months of shadowing, student-exclusive advanced workshops, apprenticeship and career opportunities, and continued follow-up support — things most trainings don’t offer.

The training is 3 days, from 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM each day. We include lunch breaks and short breaks throughout to keep your energy up and focused.

Both! You’ll start on practice skins to build confidence and get comfortable with your machine. Then you’ll move on to tattooing a live model, done under close supervision with real-time guidance and feedback. You'll also get to watch the instructor tattoo, so you can see professional techniques in action.

Yes — you’ll need to bring an iPad (we use it for stencil prep) and a live model to work on for Day 3. If you're coming from out of town or aren’t able to secure a model, we can help provide one for you.

Everything else you’ll need is either included in your professional starter kit or provided by the studio, so you’ll be fully set up to learn and tattoo confidently.

We’ve got your back even after the 3 days are over. You’ll get:

• After-class support whenever you need it

• Six months of shadowing at the studio, scheduled around studio availability

• Access to our private student group

• Optional 1:1 mentorship calls

• Eligibility to enroll in our advanced classes, which are open to students only

• And even apprenticeship or career opportunities for those looking to keep going long-term

When you're ready for more, our advanced classes are there. They're open to students only and are purchased separately, so they aren't part of your training tuition. The One Day Advanced Shading Workshop is $1,000 and goes deep on advanced shading technique like whip shading and pendulum. The Advanced Shading & Floral Intensive is three days at $3,999 and covers that same shading work plus fine line florals, freehand and leaf construction, and the grey wash combination behind our signature floral style.

Apprenticeship placement is by application and depends on availability, readiness, and studio capacity. It is not automatic and it is not included in tuition.

Yes — we focus on building real-world readiness so you can confidently start your tattoo journey right after class. We cover everything from:

• Safety and sanitation protocols

• Workstation setup and breakdown

• How to start building your clientele

• Marketing yourself on social media

Many of our students go on to become full-time tattoo artists after completing this course.

For those who want more after-class support or a longer-term learning path, we offer an optional apprenticeship program and advanced training workshops — but they're not required to get started.

Keep in mind that California requires body art practitioners to complete bloodborne pathogen training and register with their county health department before tattooing clients, and requirements vary by county and by shop. We walk you through what applies to you, but completing this course is not a license or a registration on its own.
